More activity on Indonesia's Mount Merapi volcano

More people have fled the slopes of Indonesia's simmering Mount Merapi, unsure whether the volcano is set to erupt because of thick cloud blanketing its peak. Scientists say the lava dome on top of the mountain is growing at a slower rate, but the volcano still poses a risk to those living in its shadow. They say heavy rains over the past two days could also flush more lava down the slopes. The top alert status is being maintained because there's still the potential that heat clouds are produced because of the activity on the peak. The volcano has sent out scores of lava flows and four bursts of heat clouds and fumes up to 1.2 kilometers high.
