Bulusan residents flee

Residents living near Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon abandoned their homes Monday for fear of another volcanic eruption, DZMM reported.
The report said at least five families packed their bags, belongings and appliances aboard tricycles in Barangay Cogon in Irosin town.
The evacuation took place as residents said the air they were breathing contained traces of sulfur, a sign that the volcano could erupt anytime.
Resident Jesus Dugan said some of his neighbors became ill after a month-long exposure to air mixed with ash.
Dugan's neighbor, Regina Escota, said she feels uneasy because the wet season means rains and this could end up in an eruption.
Despite the voluntary evacuation of some residents, others insisted on staying. These residents...
