China quake: state ignored natural signs?

Beijing - First, the water level in a pond inexplicably plunged. Then, thousands of toads appeared on streets in a nearby province. Finally, just hours before China's worst earthquake in three decades, animals at a local zoo began acting strangely.
As bodies are pulled from the wreckage of Monday's quake, Chinese online chat rooms and blogs are buzzing with a question: Why didn't these natural signs alert the government that a disaster was coming?
"If the seismological bureau were professional enough they could have predicted the earthquake ten days earlier, when several thousand cubic meters of water disappeared within an hour in Hubei, but the bureau there dismissed it," one commentator wrote.

Toys for SOUTH africa

GiraffePosted by Ninja T. Penguin Posted by SilverJade
(SilverJade - ) from South Africa.
Madeleine and Tania owns Toddlers warehouse She recently added an online shop and soon discovered that there are more South Africans living outside South Africa than what we want to know. Why? Some got transfers and others simply left because the country no longer suited their needs.
She came up with the question : Should we market Toddlers warehouse outside South Africa, for friends and family of people IN South Africa to send toys ( good, safe, strong ,educational toys ) to kids IN South Africa.
The answer was yes. I recall how I used to surf the net when I lived in the USA and in England and the ping when I found a really good South African website ;)
So anyway it works like this: You go to the Toddlers Warehouse website, click on the online...

Mount St. Helens growls mysteriously

Sunset in Cape TownPosted by Alfie Posted by Ninja T. Penguin
(ERIK ROBINSON - Columbian staff writer) from United States of America.
As John Pallister circled above Mount St. Helens on Sunday afternoon, a sharply defined line of steam caught his attention.
"It was interesting enough to take some pictures," said Pallister, a U.S. Geological Survey scientist and private pilot.
He didn't know it, but his USGS colleagues back in Vancouver had already noticed a 2.9-magnitude earthquake followed by a small but unusually long tremor at the steadily erupting volcano. The tremor, in fact, continued for almost an hour and a half, punctuated by a 2.7-magnitude quake.
Such tremors typically signal that magma or gases are flowing underground like water in a pipe. The last tremor of note - a 55-minute stemwinder big enough to register on seismometers from Bend, Ore., to Bellingham on Oct....

Bush exempts Navy from law to allow sonar training off California

(NOAKI SCHWARTZ - ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER) from United States of America.
LOS ANGELES -- Conservationists blasted President Bush's decision to exempt the Navy from an environmental law so it can continue using high-power sonar in its training off the Southern California coast - a practice they say harms whales and other marine mammals.
The White House announced Wednesday that Bush signed the exemption Tuesday while traveling in the Middle East. In his memorandum, Bush said the Navy training exercises "are in the paramount interest of the United States" and its national security.
The president's action by itself won't allow the anti-submarine warfare training to go forward because an injunction is in place, but the Navy believes it will significantly strengthen its argument in court. A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit...

What will YOU do about Apocalypse 2012?

(SilverJade - ) from South Africa.
Yesterday was the day.. D day for the release of the paperback version of Apocalypse 2012 by Larry Joseph . I played a part in the making of the book because I gave my input as a psychic about 2012.
Now I know a lot of people went for the hard copy but I also know that a lot of people wait until the paperback copy is out before they buy. Of course Amazon and Barnes and Noble offers a special on the book, which is quite a steal. I would like you to buy the book and I would like to hear what you think of it. One has to be blind to ignore the signs Mother Earth is giving us. She is peeved off at humans.
Climate changes alone must make you realize that things are just not right anymore. Point is: What will YOU do about it? Will you shrug and pretend it is not happening...
